THE MOTOR VEHICLES (THIRD
PARTY INSURANCE BASE
PREMIUM AND
LIABILITY) RULES, 2022
[GSR 394(E), dt. 25-5-2022, w.e.f. 1-6-2022]
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 147 of the
Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988), the Central Government in consultation
with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India, hereby makes
the following rules, namely:—
1. Short title and commencement
(1) These rules may be called as the Motor Vehicles (Third Party Insurance
Base Premium and Liability) Rules, 2022.
(2) They shall come into force on 1st June, 2022.
2. Base premium and liability
The base premium for third party insurance for unlimited liability for the
various classes of vehicles shall be as specified in the Tables given below, namely:—
