SPECIFICATION OF TYPES OF

MOTOR VEHICLE ON THE BASIS

OF DRIVING LICENSE

Whereas, the Central Government is of the opinion that persons are facing
difficulties in respect of knowledge of driving license to drive particular types of
vehicles, and the law enforcement agencies are facing difficulties in interpretation
of vehicle class mentioned in the International Driving Permit as per Geneva
Convention, 1949 and it is considered necessary so to do. Now, therefore, in
exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (4) of section 41 of the Motor
Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988), the Central Government hereby issues the following
Order to specify types of Motor Vehicle on the basis of driving license issued,
namely:—
